Snake Gets ARTSY FARTSY

During episode 2 of Kojima Station, Sean Eyestone and company were talking shop about Ground Zeroes methods of completing missions, GZ sound design, and also another MGS related site that has to do with fan art. On this site you see what MGS fans have created and you can literally view up to 4 canvases being utilized at the same time. In each canvas is a live action representation of site members busting out their ILL SKILLZ. And as Sean Eyestone mentioned in the 2nd episode, the best piece gets chosen and will win a cool prize, such at the Ground Zeroes PUMA jacket that was supplied during the Boot Camp a few weeks ago to attendees. I really want one of those jackets myself! Check out the site and maybe you can add something of your own creation. Who knows? You might win the jacket! And then I’ll be jealous of you…

Happy New Years!

On behalf of myself, Nekked Snake, and Cheesecake, we would like to wish everyone a happy and prosperous new year!  2013, was a great year for the three of us.   We are working to bring you more content, like we’ve never brought before here on JWAB (and Nekkesnake.WP).  I know, I know, I have said this many many times before, but we are working behind the scenes to bring forth some more multimedia content.  Let’s hope the timing works out.  But for now, enjoy the end of the year, and as always stay safe, and celebrate responsibly.

The Last Days of FOXHOUND (reissue 003 – Pot Shots)

[The Last Days of FOXHOUND is a fan made comic that I stumbled upon a few years years ago while perusing the Internetz as an MGS fan. This strip, created by a fellow MGS fan named Chris Douchette, ran this comic from 2003-2008. I was lucky enough to run into all 500 completed pages and wanted to share them with all of you readers. I’ll try to reiterate each and every consecutive page as time goes on. Most of the humor stems from the going on throughout the MGS series, so those who aren’t too familiar may find themselves slightly lost. My solution: play the MGS games. You guys wouldn’t be here anyways if you haven’t at least played MGS1. Anywho, enjoy!]

GAME ON!!

By The Way

20131210-105611.jpg

Those of you who frequent my site may have noticed that the look and feel have drastically changed. I hope for the better actually. As a WordPress user I chose a theme during the inception of NekkedSnake.WordPress.com that was meant to give an impression of gaming journalism. It looked great for a while (to me anyway) and so I stuck with it. As time went on, articles were written, thoughts and opinions shared, and I started feeling that the site was taking a sort of adolescent aesthetic. That’s something that I didn’t really want to carry through to my future posts, therefore a new theme needed to be chosen. I searched WordPress for a theme that evoked a more adult oriented appeal while still keeping the fun nature that gaming brings forth. I wanted my site to look more akin to that of a gamer informed site where gamers and techies alike can enjoy content and pretty things at the same time. Also of note is the Info Bar at the top, for ease of getting to certain categories to access posts that might be of interest to our readers. At the very top are all the categories of NekkedSnake and its ramblings. So feel free to peruse and consume some tasty bits of gaming, tech, and other tidbits to your heart’s content. I look forward to bringing you more content as new and exciting gaming and tech related stuffs washes over the Internetz. For now this is NekkedSnake…

Enjoy!

Rest In Peace, Paul Walker (Update)

UPDATE:

In all the whirlwind about the unfortunate accident that happened last weekend, I just wanted to mention (prolly something that we all know at this point) that Roger Rodas was also in the accident with Paul Walker. He and Walker have been friends for over a decade and helped put together Reach Out Worldwide, the charity organization that helps victims of catastrophic events such as those who were effected in the Philippines by hurricane Haiyan. Rodas was also a car enthusiast who enjoyed fine automobiles.

*****

I came upon some sad news tonight. Actor Paul Walker, best known for starring in the Fast & Furious movies has died today in a deadly car crash. Reports say that he died while driving his Porsche at a car show charity event on Saturday November 30 2013 (today for us in the east coast). It’s been confirmed by multiple outlets including TMZ, Variety, US Magazine, and FOX News. The unfortunate aftermath can be seen here.

Honestly I thought it was a hoax at first. Celebs are susceptible to hoaxes of this nature, especially high profile actors such as Walker, himself. My wife came to me and blurted out, “Paul Walker died!” All I could say was, “Bullshit!” I’m always in need of cold hard facts, especially when it comes to conspiracies or hoaxes. When things make the rounds on the net, I have a tendency to smell BS until the truth about anything is confirmed. I was in a state of denial (still kind of am) about this because, obviously I don’t want it to be true. Walker was one of my fave actors, and the FAST franchise is one of my faves as well. And while I know he’s just an actor which potentially trivializes this sad event, he came off as just a normal human being who just happened to be an actor. He seemed pretty down to earth and the characters he played in all his movies seemed just as level headed, which made him very relatable, for me anyway. Yes, he was a celeb, but didn’t let that notoriety go to his head. He’s been a car enthusiast for years, did BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu), and did charity events, just as this one, letting people do test drives in his Porsche.

It’s a pretty sad thing when anyone passes one, celeb or otherwise. And people die everyday. I suppose Paul Walker was just one of those who, at 40 years of age, gets put along with those individuals who have had their flames extinguished all too early. My personal tribute (if I can call it that anyway) will be to do a Fast & Furious marathon and watch the first six FAST movies.

Rest In Peace, Roger Rodas and Paul Walker aka Brian O’Connor aka Buster. You both will be missed.

Happy…Thanksgivikah?

Hey, look who’s FINALLY posting!

It’s been a while, but The Big Cheese and I both figured it was a fitting time to post. We all know we’re thankful that I’m back, am I right?
